This past Tuesday, New Zealand loss their most famous sheep, Shrek, who was reknowned for avoiding being shorn for years. Shrek first appeared in the national spotlight back in 2004 after he evaded annual shearing roundups for the previous seven years by hiding in caves. When he was eventually found, he was engulfed in 60 pounds of wool. Shrek's story has inspired three books.
